I recently asked my bank if I could buy boxes and they said they dont do that and I oculd only get $10 worth of pennies every other month so I was wondering if banks allow you to buy boxes without holding an account with them?

Most will not. Have your parents ask for a box, they will have a lot more pull than you since they probably have many multiples more money in their accounts and are worth more to the bank.

I live in an area that has a large population of CRHers. Banks in my area won't order boxes of coins for you unless you have an account with them.
But---if you do have an account, there are no fees for getting boxes of coins. That's a good and apparently disappearing thing, because banks in
many areas are starting to charge fees per box for that "service."

Open an account with a minimum deposit, leave that $ in the account and they'll hand you the keys to the kingdom. It'll be worth it.

It depends on the bank. I have been successful at banks that I do not have an account at and unsuccessful at some bank branches were I do have an account. All you can do is ask.
