Hi again,
I've been actively using ebay for over 6 monts now, without problems, always paying within few hours after receiving the invoice from the seller. And I've been fortunate to receive every letter/package safely.

I purchased some banknotes from a certain seller on March 2007. No problem, I received invoice, paid for the notes and after some time, I received my note too. Both were happy and positive feedback given.

Then suddenly April 21st, 2007 this seller opened an 'Unpaid Item Dispute' claiming that I have not paid for one of the notes!! I've tried to contact this seller and replied to the dispute console, but the seller has not replied anything to me? Also, I contacted ebay, but though friendly response, that didn't help much

If someone is interested, please check out ebay item #320091082674...as you can see from his feedbacks, I've entered positive feedback on Mar-25-07 06:05 (username: jarnoharma). Check my feedbacks and you'll find positive feedback from this seller and for this particular item entered on Mar-26-07 22:16. huh is going on?

But today, this got even more mysterious; I received a letter from this seller (I believe it is this seller) and it contained exactly similar banknote than pictured in description for ebay item #320091082674...this seller had more than one for sale, but I did purchase only one and received it already a month ago.

Question is, what do I do next (remember, contacting seller is a bit difficult, since this seller hasn't replied in 5 days at all)? And what do I do with the received note that I did not order or buy and I'm now under threat to receive a strike for an unpaid item!

This is so frustrating!!!

Just looked at their feedback. This seems to be a pretty common occurrence for this seller. There are a lot of unpaid buyer disputes.....It almost seems like this person just has horrible book keeping skills. One buyer bought 10 items and was sent 11 or something like that.

As for what to do now, Susan will be along soon. They have a lot of dealings with ebay items, and should be able to help you. I would think that if you paid via Paypal, you're covered. If you paid via personal check or money order it can be traced as well, just not as easy. You can be completely honest and tell the seller that you already have the note that you paid for, and you have now received another. If it was me, I would be holding that note until this buyer dispute was removed. I would also copy ebay on every email that I send.

I have paid the item using PayPal. I just checked and I can present the transaction ID # too from PayPal. Also, I read that ebay also accepts positive feedback as proof of payment...well, that should not be a problem either, since, if you checked that item and the feedbacks, this seller has provided me with positive feedback and even thanking me for prompt (or promt? ) payment.

I think I'm very well covered here, but still, this issue makes me nervous. And especially because I do not wish to receive any undeserved Strikes on my account...there are several items on my watch list, that I do wish to win

Oh, and I emailed the seller (once more), telling him/her that I have today received another note, that I did not buy and that I purchased, paid and received similar note last month already. But I dunno if the seller is going to answer to this email either...

When you pay with Paypal, they send you a reciept to your email. Just go into the dispute console and state you have the reciept showing you paid for all the items won. You can email a copy to ebay (or however it's done). But if the seller wont return your messages, I guess the only thing you can do really is try communicating with the dispute console, and prove to them you paid for the items. But you you already receive positive feedback, I wouldn't really worry about it too much. I think its rediculous that the seller is going through all this trouble for just $5... Also, his feedback is a little low. Better stay away next time.

The seller appears to be in error here, and it's quite obvious. I wouldn't worry about it. However, be aware that fraud abounds in these types of emails. It is possible that one of these could be a phishing attempt. Don't respond except through ebay's message system if at all possible.

I did receive a receipt of the payment via email. But I deleted it and also deleted all previous correspondence with this seller, as I usually do when both parties have entered (positive) feedback and thus the transaction is 100% complete. I never expected this kind of dispute almost a month later, AFTER having confirmation of my payments arrival and receiving the items safely. But, despite the fact that I deleted my email-receipt, I do have history record at my PayPal account, including the PayPal transaction ID number for this particular transaction.

Oh, any advices to the issue that this seller has now sent me another similar note, without consulting me first? I've paid for one and received one last month and now, I received other one today...? Do I send it back, or keep it as a 'gift'? On the other hand, if I want to send this item back in a way that I get a proof of shipment, it'll be registered letter from Finland to USA...that makes US $8.55 + costs, total approximately $9.00.

Auldfartte: I've responded to the seller through ebay's messaging system and via email directly (seller's email address is available at his ebay store, IIRC).

PS. sorry about my bad language in my opening post, that was fortunately deleted by moderator. It was unintentional and stupid of me.
