I have been trying to beat this into peoples' brains for quite some time. The title is the single most important part of the listing. I say this because if you have a horrible title, people will never get the chance to complain about your horrible pictures, lousy ad copy, or outrageous shipping and handling..... Because they'll never see any of it.

Some cold, hard facts about the last 1,000 hits on our auctions.....

FACT 1:

The-Importance-Of-Your-Ebay-Title....

98.5% of eBayers only search titles. So your description doesn't mean a hill of beans if your title stinks.

FACT 2:

The-Importance-Of-Your-Ebay-Title....

84.2% of eBayers don't go past page 2 of a search.

[soapbox]

So if your title stinks and doesn't get you on the first 2 pages..... your final price will stink.

I just wanna cry when I see a listing for a silver coin, and the title is only 30 characters, and coin and silver isn't in there.

Stick to the facts. People do not search adjectives. Forget about.. awesome.. great.. sweet.. and for God's sake if I see L@@K in your title... I'm coming to your house.

Think about your titles, ebayers can't bid if they can't find you!

[/soapbox]

Oh. Is that the reason why my standout condition Census 1921-D VAM-1Q Pompadour VAM didn't sell, because I called it a 1921-S instead of a 1921-D?

Thank you.

Well
The best auction title I ever made got deleted by ebay for spamming
Oak Dining room ; hand sculpted ; Chippendale Style ; linen closet & showcase ( that is a vitrine to show of your silver or porecelaine or chrystal )

After they deleted it I bought it myself

I find that if there is a "LOOK!" in the title, I won't. I'm not sure if it's because I don't like being told what to do, or if I'm sick of looking at junk.

If I see L@@K, it means the guy is a professional ebay seller who has an item that no one wants to buy.
