In California at the Santa Clara Convention Center. It was a nice experience. There was a lot of really nice coins to choose from. I picked up a PCGS AU58 1853 Large Cent for $130 (and no sales tax), so I think I got a decent deal. I'm trying to talk my wife into "allowing" me to purchase a fine 1799 Silver Dollar. Many of the coins were way out of my league, but it was still cool to check them out. One dealer had type set quarter holder, and actually had a well detailed 1796 Quarter in there! I mean, how do you keep a 1796 Quarter in a generic, plastic display case? But then again raw coins selling for thousands was common place there. I'm not nearly knowlegable/brave enough to spend that much for an uncertified coin.

The feel I got from the place was one big hustle. Still I really enjoyed myself and had some nice conversations. I just wish more people appeared to be having fun instead of going about their grind.

The only down side is I'm the only coin collector I know. I had nobody to go with. All my friends said, "Coin show? Uh... no."

I plan on going to the show in Long Beach next month.
Last time in Long Beach was my first one. I was able to dropoff my coins to be graded. I had a great time.
I wanted to go to the Santa Clara one but didn't have a chance.
