Looks like the 'My Special Number' madness is starting to creep up on the ebay Farewell Penny Roll sweepstakes. Seems lots of sellers have a special serial number or circumstance that commands a high premium. That 'last-roll' fever must be contagious. Maybe I'm getting senile in my old age, but can anyone tell me what's so special about this one, and why it would warrant such a high premium. If this guy gets what he's asking for it, great for him. I just know he won't be getting it from me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-REPEAT...em35c4e159a0

everyone try to find an edge.. I would think whoever get 1/20000 and 2012/20000 will do just fine

How is 121 a repeater? Isn't that a radar? (at best) I like that it's 'one of kind' too. So are all of my rolls. No other roll has the same number as any of mine.

It was inevitable. The 20000/20000 auction will have everyone trying to justify why their particular number should be considered on similar footing.
Even the 20000/20000 feels it necessary to use the ridiculous term "rare". Rare really implies more than one.

I did wonder when this was announced whether radar, etc. on the numbers would occur. If this auction, and others, succeed then it will be interesting to see whether dealers bring pressure on the RCM to put a serial number hologram on all NCLT capsules. A new premium game begins?

I have the first roll of completely random numbers - 18426. No two numbers are the same! WOW!
No sequence, no hidden meaning....one of a kind, unique and super rare.
Now, who'll start the bidding? Anyone? Do I hear 100 dollars?

No chance to get a special # if order from dealers. They will keep all of those special one.
You can still hope for luck if order from Mint, and have not received your rolls yet.

Roll #121 would be neat to have if you also have roll #120 and #122, but other than that...
I wonder if anybody has got consecutively numbered rolls?

I have two with lower serial numbers than those but they are not in sequence - 9 numbers apart. Darn it.

Are you guys serious?
People now are even interested in the sequence number on this roll?
I sale many rolls with sequence number. If my memory is ,I sold 7 rolls to a buyer, there are 4 or 5 them are in sequence. But the number is nothing special, so I don't care about it.
I have to check all my rolls again tonight.
