Yes the duck singles have little or no value on the bay. There is one selling for $77. The original mint price was 69.95. Others are Buy it Now for $85 with no offers, bids etc. There is no value at the moment with these single issue coins! Gatewest still has them at issue price!

It's not even sold out at dealers, you can't expect miracles. Wait until the second and 3rd coin come out, at that point we could see if it was a good buy.

I have a few duck subscriptions. Should I sell them now or should I wait until the set is complete? Will a complete set be worth more than what I can get right now? Subs on ebay are going for around $180 now.

Sell half your subs now and then rest as a complete set.

I'm keeping a couple for later, I don't think there's a rush to sell.

Can you "sell a sub" or are you actually merely selling coin + box/call and the sub continues for you or you cancel it?

You are not selling a sub, the buyer get box/coin/call.
You continue to get the subscription from the Mint. This is from the Mint, "Your credit card will be charged as each coin is shipped."
Could you cancel? I don't know. What do you guys think?

Ordered subs. Two in one order, one in another. Cancelled the order with two, kept the order with one. Now I either sell the two with the first coin, or buy the next two ducks with the box and can add them to the set at any time to sell YES, you can cancel hihi

So I bought 17 of these sets in total, sold 7 before General release at $10-15 profit, and so far sold 1 for $250 on ebay, sold 1 for $250 privately, and 1 of my auctions ended at only $210 with shipping.

Why are some of you guys saying this is a bad investment?

According to some on this forum, the duck coins without subscription are poor investments not the subs.

I think the boxes with the call are the winners. The single coins not so much. There are only 5000 boxes which makes the set unique. I don't think the single coins will sell well on the secondary market. Those that want the box badly will probably get it with the first coin included from the secondary market (or ordered the sub themselves). Those that flipped the box and cancelled after the first coin will have no interest in the second and third coins, those that bought the box will supplement with the leftover coins from the cancelled subs (the mint isn't going to toss them, instead, they will put them into play). No matter which way you slice it, there will always be 5000 singles of each coin floating around and 5000 in sets.

It's my knowledge from my Recent DU Magazine that There will only be 4400 singles ducks floating around because 600 of the fine silver Mallard coins were embedded into 600 ducks unlimited 75 year anniversary books that are to be auctioned off this year at fundraiser Banquets...

In that case, sounds as though the Mallard will be less available than the subsequent ducks. Is this likely to make the Mallard more valuable as a single than the others?

^^^^^^
People who are into ducks will want the box with the duck call. They don't want a single coin. The single coins will be less valuable. As evidenced by the lack of success on ebay.
Subsequent coins will be be worth less as people will only buy enough coins for the 5000 boxes. That means 5000 hard to sell individual coins.
