But it begs the question...can you put half dollars through it?

I would love to search the copper bin. Find all sorts of fun stuff. What do you do with all the copper?

Nice piece! I've thought a lot about getting one but every time I get $500 put together, some other priority (like another 15oz of silver) has always intervened.

Just out of personal curiosity --- is this intended to just accelerate the flow and volume of coins that you hunt or do you foresee the machine paying for itself?

Can't put half dollars through them, but I think Andy has something on the horizon for that. you can pull off the ramp and run halves manually, if you want too, I did just to test it out and see what it would do, it would require a different feed wheel, different rake for the coin and a different lexan plastic ramp, now there are some places on the hopper to attach some metal and maybe make your own ramp, I have thought about getting a whole new comparator to play and try to do just halves but too busy right now. Also have thought about building my own, again no time, that's why I bought his to begin with. I really like his new machine and am really on the fence about maybe buying it and selling the one I have now, or sending it in to be modified to the new machine.

They will not pull all the coins you want, it has problems pulling some wheat cents, I almost missed my first IHC because the machine missed it but was watching at the time, I have played with it to see if I can get it to do better and at least mine has problems with IHC. But anyone that wants to cut a lot of searching time, and or pull Cu, you can't beat it for the price.

The thing that will start driving you nuts after awhile is opening all the penny rolls, it becomes a pain the the rear and is probably the one thing that would end up making me quit processing pennies.

Ben, searching through the copper I have found some really cool things! Like I show in the video, a lot of wheats. Over 100 this weekend, I lost count. I have gotten 2 1914, a 1916, a 1918, some 20s, some 30s, a steel cent, and a lot from the 40s and 50s. I have also gotten quite a few young queen elizibeth II and those 3 george the VI. I totaled about 50 lbs in copper cents. Now I have a lot of zincs for the bank to roll....

Freddy, I'm not sure if I will be selling copper anytime soon. If I needed money in a pinch, I have a lot of silver now, so that's a good security. It probably would depend on the price of silver at the tie, how fast I needed the money, etc. So yes, this is just to increase the coinage I search! And to hoard some copper. Probably when I start running out of room I will sell some copper.

yvairguy, I do a quick scan to make sure I don't miss anything. I take scoops at a time of the zinc and pour them out and look for anything odd. It goes real fast, but I usually pull some nice 2009s and some toners. No indian head is slipping by me!

Thanks!

And yes, people sell copper cents for more than face.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Face-Va...em231a695744

This has sold $3300 in copper for $175 plus shipping. Not bad!
