Here's another new purchase. Not the quality I like but seems like it is all there.

ARCADIUS. 383-408 AD. Æ 23mm (4.77 g). Nicomeda mint. Obverse: D N ARCADI-VS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse: GLORIA ROMANORVM, Arcadius standing right, holding labarum and globe; *//SMNA. RIC IX 46b.2.

Looks good to me ! I believed that with patience it might be improved. For the period I consider it high grade

Very high grade for Arcadius - full legends, clear bust? Thats the first one I've seen.

For an Arcadius coin which are usually found in rough shape this coin is in excellent condition with excellent details and full legends. A nice addition to any collection.

Thanks guys. I looked at many Arcadius coins and this was the best I could find for the price. Once it is in hand I'll take new photos. Would it be worth while trying to remove all the dirt on it?

The reverse has a lovely desert patina. Id leave it. I'm not fond of the obverse but you'd be risking the reverse to clean that.

cool arcadius!

you're stick on a great run IGE!

don't know about cleaning, I'm cleaning a theodosius I got with a similar patina now...don't know how it's going to come out, but I doubt if I'm going to improve it now that I've taken a couple cracks at it.

Real nice! I like it as is but would maybe do little DW soak to clean the high points. Definitely leave the sand patina in place in the fields!
