I see 2006P and RCM logo. I'm new to the coin collecting game and just wondering what this all means.

Yeah I guess that was more my question. There is no easy guide that I can find explaining these terms.

What is the P and where is the RCM logo?

The "p" stands for plated...multi ply plated steel (magnetic)
Some of the copper plated zinc (non-mag) got mixed in with the magnetic ones thus the non-mag "P"

Hello craig0611

Generally there were three different obverse "looks" to the 2006 One Cent penny.. specifically just under the queen's portrait:

What-Is-The-Difference-Between-2006-Small-Cents? What-Is-The-Difference-Between-2006-Small-Cents? What-Is-The-Difference-Between-2006-Small-Cents?

The first one of the three does not have a ..."Mint Mark"... (no "p"..no "Logo") This one is a copper plated zinc core penny...(non magnetic) Mintage is high for this one. The exception to this is the "Magnetic" (copper plated steel) version...(somewhat scarce)

The second one has a "P" "Mint Mark"... meaning "copper plated steel" "Magnetic"...Mintage is fairly low for this one. From my information I've gathered.. was intended for "mint sets" but some were released for circulation ...and again with this "P" penny.. there are some that are "non magnetic" and are (scarce).

The third one " RCM Logo" came in both "Magnetic" (steel core) and "Non Magnetic" (zinc core) and from what I've seen are/were fairly common.

Hope this helps out a little bit
