Any-Whovians-Out-There?

Quote:
Doctor Who is currently the longest running and most successful science fiction television series of all time. Produced in Great Britain by the BBC, the programme depicts the adventures of a time travelling, humanoid alien known as the Doctor. He explores the universe in his TARDIS, a telepathic travel machine that's bigger on the inside than the outside, and outwardly appears to be a blue 1960s British police box. Along with a succession of companions, the Doctor faces a variety of foes while working to save civilisations, help those he comes in contact with, and right wrongs across the universe.

This coin depicts an engraved relief of the iconic TARDIS used by the Doctor to travel through time and space. This bursts forth out of a dynamic high quality colour printed background representing time travel. The coins border features the finely engraved words Doctor Who 50TH ANNIVERSARY 1963 â€" 2013.

COMING JUNE 2013

Careful what you wish for, amida. The Royal Mint has already made an Amy Pond medal. Personally, I don't think it's at all flattering.

The TARDIS coin in the OP is a Perth Mint coin "from" Niue. As for how it looks, I'd want to wait to see it actually in hand. After the Great White Shark fiasco, I'd be reluctant to buy a "nice looking coin" based on artists impressions alone.

Being an older guy, the fourth Dr. Who was my favorite. And Leela the warrior was my favorite companion.

Sap is right.
I would rather meet Karen for real than see Amy on the coin.
