Hey everyone, I want to share some of the more interesting Peace dollars from my modest collection. I got all of these in a lot off of ebay and paid around $26 per.

Coin 1: This was one of the first ones to catch my eye, really nice deep toning on the reverse, and a nice obverse too. It has a nice luster on the reverse as well that didn't come out so well.

Coin 2: This one has a unique pink hue that, again, didn't come out too well in the photos. It also has a nice luster under the hue. Additionally there is what appears to be a heart drawn on the coin in front of Liberty's face. Intentional? who knows?..

Coin 3: This one in my opinion is the least interesting of the three, but still a nice one. It has a deep gold toned luster, and also has nice details.

Now that you've seen my coins, a question that I've been pondering is whether it's worth it to get them graded. Meaning, will getting them graded increase the value by more than it cost to get them graded. I feel like the first two are pretty unique, and would love to increase the value of them.

Generally, a good grading service will run you at least $18.00. Even if they all come back MS63 (which would be highly unlikely), the common dates you have just aren't worth it. Only send something in for grading if it is inherently worth a lot. If you had the 1928 in your pile that would be a different story.

You did well finding those for $26/ea on ebay. All 3 are considered bullion coins that will be valued primarily on their silver content plus a small numismatic premium because they are silver dollars.

There is no way you should consider having coins like these professionally graded. Hold them by the edges like you are and enjoy!

Generally I am all for getting coins graded. But these just are not high enough grades for the dates they are. Were they 21 or 28 I would say heck yes.

I really like these. They have what I prefer to call "dirty" toning. I've got a 1904-O Morgan on the way that is really mucky on the obverse, but it is rather appealing to me. It graded MS-61 by NGC. Got it on ebay too.
