How To Find Half Dimes/Shield Nickels

biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 03/07/2013 1:17 pm Half Dimes are not the same size as a dime or nickel so you would not find them in those rolls, not to mention the fact that they have not been minted for the last 140 years. A Shield nickel could potentially be found in a roll of nickels but the chances of that happening are slim to none, the only way one would get into circulation is by someone deliberately spending it. What was the approximate age of the cashier? Not that it should make any difference, just curious. Those ebay sellers that are selling those types of coins on the end of the roll didn't really find the rolls that way, they placed them there and I am sure it will confuse others into thinking they have a chance of finding a dollar gold coin in a US Cent roll but it will never happen in the real world Report this Post to the Staff
