As part of my collecting goals I decided I wanted to make a page of Greeks, a page of Roman and a Page of Medieval + Golds relating to UK.

Well the page of Greeks is completed with this final coin.

Maybe-My-Final-Greek

So my page of Greeks contains the following coins...

Alexander III AR drachm
Alexander III AR tetradrachm
Attica Athens Owl tetradracm
Corinth AR stater (Pegasis flying left)
Darius I Ar siglos, Lydia under Persian rule
Moesia Istros Ar Drachm Thrace twins/left head inverted
Thrace Thasos AR Drachm, Satyr with protesting nymph
Thrace Cheronesos Ar Hemidrachm, forepart of lion
Menander Indo-Greek At drachm,
Islands off Attica Aegina Ar Stater, sea turtle
Thrace Messembria AE22 Athena Alkis with shield and spear
Sicily Syracuse Agathokoles AE23 Lightning bolt

Now I just hope I don't see any nice Messembria Meta wheel/helmet diobols or Thebes staters or I will have to start a new page. Did I make good choices for a type collection? How would you have chosen differently?

My Roman page is requiring 3 coins, so I am looking for a nice Dupondius, a nice city commemorative and a facing bust.

After that who knows where my collecting will take me.

And that's a really nice final Greek to complete with!
I have six coins that may be similar to yours in that list, but if the rest of your Greeks are as nice as the one pictured, you beat me 6 to nil.

Excellent group of Greek coins!

I'm still acquiring Greeks but mine are mostly more obscure, less popular types therefore not too expensive.

A Rhodian drachm and something from Magna Grecia (Tarentum or Neapolis maybe) or even Punic Sicily would round things out nicely. But then you would need to start page 2. The search never really ends does it ?

Thank you for the kind words... I started collecting these about 9 months ago as a result of seeing how interesting ancients are on this forum. I had originally joined because of my banknotes.

Awesome coins. I seem to come across them all the time, but don't know how to tell the fake from the real. Much less know their value.
