On our recent trip to South America my wife and I met several Australians, and all were interesting to talk with.

Two we talked with were coin collectors, and one of them was really "into" pre decimal coinage and claimed to have some great pieces.

The lead singer and dancer for the Las Vegas style show on the cruise ship was from Western Australia and was tremendously talented.

We were told that when the cruise ship reached NYC it was going to on-load 500 Aussies for the next voyage.

Australian know they live in a land Far Far away from everywhere else. It's a lucky country, safe and without a lot of problems the rest of the world has. Thats One reason Australians love their country.

But that isolation also makes Aussies GREAT TRAVELLERS. We get 4 weeks 'holiday' (vacation time) a year and travelling overseas is a big event... So Aussies tend to go for long periods of time when traveling overseas. It's a long long trip to anywhere. LOL

I would think that at any one time, there is about 10 percent of our population travelling the world.
