I wanted to contact the seller to see if he's willing to give me a pic of the slab, and got the following message: Quote: We're sorry we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is not able to respond to your question.

The coin has seen a cleaning in the past.

Does it look whizzed to you too?

Looks like it's been dipped to me. I think the circulation marks make it appear more harshly cleaned than what it actually is.

Does not looked whizzed. That is done with a high speed wire brush. This one looks like it was cleaned with baking soda and water, then stuck in a coin folder years ago. It looks like an old cleaning but it is still an altered surface and will only TPG with a details grade.

OK thanks. I asked the seller for a picture with the NGC grade in it. I haven't gotten an answer yet.

This offering, the pics and the nature of the listing certainly beg scrutiny; this, as so well illustrated by the comments of our CCF fellows.
You might ask if the word "details" appears on the sticker or have the seller simply quote what's on the label.
I can't help but be suspicious whenever a seller offers "No Returns." Furthermore, the failure to respond to simple requests is also a red flag. IMHO, better safe than sorry ...

He posted a pic of the label. Surprisingly no details.

The label pic will likely enhance the ultimate sale price. It certainly helps the credibility of the seller. In all likelihood, if the coin had been harshly scrubbed, NGC would have given it a details label.

Not sure what NGC was thinking with this one. That is not a natural looking surface on that coin. I've seen key date coins given a pass more than once by the TPG's. That's why they always say, buy the coin and not the holder.

Ya, I'm no expert but I would say that coin was definitely cleaned. I've seen much nicer coins get the shaft from TPG's. This is a case where a crack out guy would lose.

Encapsulated coins can be very difficult to photograph by the average person straight up facing the coin so the easiest way to not have any reflections is to angle the coin. Unfortunately that doesn't always give a person an accurate image to view. You can't tell if the scratch is in the plastic or on the coin, if the plastic is cloudy from many minor scratches it can alter the appearance of the coin also. You can ask the seller to provide additional photos of the coin from a different angle and if he is really interested in getting the most money he can for this coin he will send them to you or add them to the description in the listing. I'm not defending this seller but you have to read his feedback comments, how has he responded to inquiries. Even though this seller has a no return policy look to see if it has ebay buyer protection. If it does and you do get the coin and are not satisfied with it you should have the ability to return it in spite of the seller saying no returns. Personally, I would never buy a coin from anyone online who did not have a return policy. Ed ANA LM-3175
