1917 S Penny Rotated And Not Copper ?

Found this one stuck in with other coins in a 2 x 2 holder . Rotaed ccw 15 % marked not copper . The scratches I did to see what would show under the the material that is on this coin . Any one able to help with the solution to the problem ? Is this a basement job ? Rotation is real .

First, this is the wrong forum (it should either be in modern US coins or in the errors part).

Second, this looks like copper to me, plated by some other metal. See the color where the scratches are, or on the outer circle.

[cringe] Next time, consider a non-invasive diagnostic maneuver or just post it here first :)

Looks plated to me too. Copper color is showing in the scratches.
