Earlier there was a post asking about coin shops on Manhattan. I had added a post to that thread about a trip to NYC when I was 13. My 8th grade class was going to Washington DC and my father gave me the choice to go with the class or go with him to NYC. I chose the Big Apple. My father took me to a LCS in Manhattan and I found a 1909VDB in the dealers 10 cent box. I was a happy camper. My other coins were the 1973 sterling United Nations Medal and the 1973 UN bronze version purchased at the UN. I still have all three. The 1909VDB is in my Whitman.
My more memorable moments were the fact my father let me watch R rated movies while in our room. I saw 'The French Connection', 'M.A.S.H.' and Woody Allen's, 'Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex, But Were Afraid To Ask.' You can't that kind of education in DC unless you're an intern.
