My reply to your 1835 Capped Bust half dollar would be that it would be probably a VF, EF condition. Anywhere from 120 to 175 according to Coin World. I would say nice job.

Hard to tell from these pics, but it seems that the coin is bent a bit (just above the TE of STATES).
Details are mid VF.

If the reverse really took a hit there, it is probably more like a 50$ coin, otherwise you did fine, but in any case I can't see this coin going for more than a single 100$ bill.

I think you got a good deal, but ultimately if you're happy with the expense, that's the key.

Mid-range VF in my opinion. Hard to tell from the photos but I'm thinking this coin has had a light cleaning. With that in mind I would put the value at $60 plus or minus a little bit depending on the eye appeal and how much the cleaning stands out in hand.
