Another one from the Whitman book. This coin has the reveres streaking which I have seen on a lot of these coins coming from the Whitman. Will this streaking hurt the grading? Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately the reverse streaking and spotting will lower its eye appeal and grade. I am thinking around MS-61/62 RB.

This may sound silly, but it was a shinny brand new 1961 Lincoln Cent that started my interest in coins (in 1961), as I found one on the grass near the sidewalk while waiting for the school bus. As I rotated the coin 180º and noticed the upside down date 1961 read the same in either direction just fascinated me at the time (at age 8), and a few years later would go to the local coin shop and purchase Indian cents at 3¢ each and Liberty Head Nickels at 8¢ each.

Funny how memories from 52 years back jump to the front of the line when I can't remember what I did yesterday

Broken-Coin,

You got the story wrong. The penny was from 1861 and you were waiting for the stagecoach. Where were you when Mckinley was shot ?

I kid, I kid.

No offence but that would be a spender to me. The eye appeal is just not there. And the verdigris is pretty bad too.IMHO

No offence/offense taken. I already pushed it back into the Whitman book and I didn't use a glove .

IMO, if you put that thing on ebay, those people would bid it up to 10 or 20 dollars.

Sarcasm with a hint of truth.

Actually, I think you have to be over 30 to legally use sarcasm.
