I found this coin a few months ago and can't seem to identify it. The date on most coins I've found similar to this have been below the liberty head, however the date on this is on the back. Is it possibly a reproduction coin?

Might be a reproduction or token of some sort but not a genuine coin.

Welcome! Looks like costume jewelry, or one of those funky California pieces.

If it is gold I believe it might be a california small-denomination Gold piece. If so most of them have a wreath on the back with the date inside it.

I concur that it is very unlikely to be a genuine coin or token. California gold replicas are all over the place.

However, seeing the reverse would be a big help. :-)
