I am in Minnesota and I have had far better odds with finding Canadian silver dimes and quarters than finding silver US ones. My entire Canadian coin collection fits in a 1 quart Tupperware and of that I have 4 silver dimes and 1 quarter. To get that many silver US coins I would need $250-$500 in dimes and over $2000 in quarters based on my current average.

This doesn't really answer the question, but I thought it would be interesting to add.

Half rolls are available, and I know one guy in Vancouver found a whole box of nickel dollars with 4 silver dollars for face (banks are apparently eager to get rid of them). But I've had no luck yet asking around at a half-dozen banks in my city.

I'm in the US, but just wanted to say I've had great luck with Canadian dimes. I find on average, near 10-25 regular Canadian dimes per box. I have found over 100 silvers in the last few years. I think they would be the best bet for searching.
