I have a 1917 SLQ with a small clip. I was wondering what value an small error like this adds to the coin. Any thoughts?

Obverse and reverse have the same rim clip or damage.

w/ bpoc1. Looks like it might be PMD, not a clipped planchet...

I think I see the Blakesley effect on the opposite rims so I think it may have happened during the minting process.

Clips should always affect both sides so there is no reason to question that aspect. Granted, there is no curved notch typically seen with an incomplete planchet but the metal flow and weak details are consistent as well as the Blakesley Effect seen on both sides. The clips is quite small, maybe 1 or 2%, so it may not garner much interest from hardcore error collectors but I would guess that it would have at least some kind of premium attached to it.

If you're selling a look into past sales on Teletrade, Heritage, DLRC, etc. might be helpful to establish a price, I have bought a couple small clipped 2¢ over the years, I recall cherrypicking one, and paying maybe a $25.00 premium as the clip is quite small.

Thanks everyone. It definitely is a clip and not PMD. Besides, I'm not sure how a clip affects one side only.
