Anybody get a look at the new ASE to be offered in the 2013 West Point 25th Anniversary set? A enhanced uncirculated ASE with three different finishes, and the usual RP. http://coins.about.com/library/US-C...in-Specs.htmLooks like the coin to get this year! What do you all think? It is an interesting looking coin. I'm going to have to look at it a few more times, I think I need to take it all in. I'm sure it will be the ASE to own this year. They sure made it different.

I think the ASE's are the most beautiful coins currently being produced, and this one is no exception.

Looks pretty nice. Now if only the US Mint would put as much effort into making our regular currency beautiful once again!

A feat of minting artistry there! not on my radar (yet?) as something to add to my collection.

Looks nice. When do they go on sale? The Mint website doesn't have it?

The Mint website states the two coin ASE West Point set will be sold " May\June ", which would most likely mean that this set will be sold during a limited one month period like last year's special 2 coin ASE set. The exact day in May when they go on sale has not been set as of yet.

Awesome, can you post that link so I know where to look in the future at release dates and such? THanks!

They are taking a page out of the other mints books for this. Take a close look at a Panda or Kookaburra. They are similar multiple finish coins. cheezy, it's very easy to be that meticulous when you don't have to make a billion of them. I rather think making circulating coins look like that would not be feasible.

I like it.... this new design will enhance the program & attract more collectors, which probably will have a higher mintage also. If this new approach/method for the ASE collector series (1 month mint to demand) is successful, we will see an increase in mintage and demand over time.... which also mean the 2012 2-coins set will be the KEY to the 'Two coins series'.

I have a feeling this will be a coin that you'll have to see in person to really judge the effect, but have no doubt this will be a huge seller. Now I'm wondering if they'll use this same effect on the proposed gold Buffalo set? Rumor is a 2 coin set with a reverse proof, if the other coin is a standard proof like the one that goes on sale in May it won't be that special. But if it's a different look it would make for 2 unique coins in that set as well.

Im very excited to see how this turns out in hand. I cant help but feel we may have a repeat of last year with the quality issues and a new product, but since theyre trying something new Id be more than fine with it. Well done mint, well done
