Hi guys, another one for you to help me with!
approx 25mm diameter. Is it Augustus? Coin type? Value?

I believe it's Augustus, there isn't enough detail to say what the reverse is though.

Almost certainly an As. It looks like a DIVVS AVGVSTVS type. The portrait resembles the restitution types issued by Titus and Nerva. I would almost be ready to bet on a Nerva restitution type. As luck would have it I happen to have one at hand !

Notice not only the highly idealized portrait of Augustus but the engraver has gone to some length to impart a family resemblance between the two. Thankfully they didn't give Augustus a proboscis that we associate with Nerva but they did make an effort to show 'familia'

As for value ..... It is kinda rough around the edges. But it is a recognizable larger sized portrait of 'Auggie'. On a good day it 'might' fetch $20 on ebay even without the reverse. Certainly worth more than a ten spot !
