Dave, you know you love it.....well I can for sure rule out the Newman 1 obverse that only leaves 21 possibilities.....

You can see the you in YOUR is low; lower than the O. The ornament is over the middle of the I in BUSINESS. I can make myself believe the final S is high instead of low, ruling out obverses 15 and 6. I believe this is obverse 12.

And if we can see nothing else on the reverse, on the far left of the band can be seen the TE of STATES. The ring opposite the E is ring 9, so we have the orientation, which is half the battle. "But wait," you ask, "how do you know that's not the TE of UNITED?" All right; call it a 50/50 leap of faith, but I think this pic is right side up. Do you think it is, amida?

And thanks for your response in General Discussion. I think you know I'm doing this as a therapeutic distraction, with very wet eyes...

The WE is pressed up close to the top of the band. The darker early pics I think show ONE better. The N is closer to the O than the E. I think if you compare this coin to specimens that have gone through less abuse in life, I think you'll agree it's most likely 12-X

X = unknown from my humble perspective ... Lotsa luck on this one, folks!

Now I'm not so sure that the letters of the central motto line up right with the band for reverse X. I'm sticking with obverse 12, though! You still working on this, Dave?

Thanks for your effort. I like the 12 obverse. X reverse would likely be right considering it is the most common.
