I purchased a Hungary silver denar that is still in transit. The date was advertised as 1512,but the last digit looks like the Greek letter "omega". From the research I have done,this symbol was used as a "4" which would make the date 1514. I was wondering if this is a correct assumption.

Here are the seller's pictures. The reason why I asked is that all of the "2s" I have seen look like "z's".

It is indeed an early form of the numeral "4". Your coin is dated 1514. Here's a coin of 1504 to compare. And the earliest coin to bear an AD date and "Western" numerals, the plappart of St Gall dated 1424, also bears the numeral "4" in this same form; see the example near the bottom of this page.
