. . . here is what you missed.

Presentations on the following topics (among others):

1) Working with the Shanghai Mint to produce a commemorative medal
2) Rationing in Canada during WWII
3) A war bond issued to a Pearl Harbor survivor
4) Counterfeit overprints made and sold by an ebay seller
5) Famous signatures on short snorters
6) A statistical analysis estimating the survival rates for MPC
7) Civilian internment camp money of WWII
8) The printing of the notes used in the Theresienstadt Ghetto during WII

And the two special presentations by:

Len Buckley -- former BEP designer who designed some of the Series 692 and 701 MPC (as well as the Colorado quarter)
Grant Morris -- Department of Defense employee who designed Series 2-10 of the AAFES pogs used in Iraq and Afghanistan

Below is a Series 692 $1.00 note autographed by Len Buckley and a commemorative POG featuring Grant Morris and signed by him.

I wish I'd been there! I might make it to Memphis this year depending on how much the government wants from me in April. My accountant will tell me next week.

I am taking the MPC bootcamp session at the ANA summer session this summer. So hopefully in a few months I will understand more of what I am missing.

You will enjoy Summer Seminar but I warn you that your life will not be the same afterward.

You were right. MPCs are awesome. I had no idea the subject was already so researched and organized. Fred's enthusiasm for the subject was contagious. I can't say that I am ready to collect, but I am at least prepared. I even made a guide on my website.

Military Payment Certificate Values

For anyone thinking about collecting I would highly advise taking the boot camp at the ANA seminar. It was well worth the money and time.
