Having known little it was a bit of a stab in the dark but I thought these 2 Manillas were worth a bid. I hope they are not modern repro's. These stylised issues tend to be popular and very heavy....400g and 550g. One triple cast...lionised 14.5cm and other 7.5....former for ankle.

Used as currency in West Africa and as symbols of wealth right up to late 1940's when the British
imposed British West Africa currency on population.

Interesting about the British.
The pre Roman Britons before the period of Celtic coinage, used plain torques (manillas) of gold and silver in open rings, as a store of wealth.
