dude rachums...There is a reason why I wanted this side graded first.............. Proof-like 65 Heavy Cameo .... ...wireman...I wish that you were grading all of my coins........ ..or do these sets always come this way..? No contact marks across the frosted surfaces (that I can see),...

It is not original packaging, the original packaging is a cardboard cutout in a fitted plastic bag. I like how little toning there are on the coins and the penny looks pretty good as well.

The PL set originally came in a white cardboard holder with a cellophane wrap. Was quite common to move the set to a capital holder for hard protection. Also looks like a arnprior dollar with no die break. I think there was only 2000 minted but can't remember for sure. Stills looks PL65 to me.

I thought that I was taking sharp pics,... and they still show a little blurry at one side or the other..
Yes it's an ARN. Next to impossible to get enough light in and still keep the whole surface in focus.
I will go back to work and try,..try ..again...

For all the coin 'dudes' out there...
I think it's for sure a PL64 Cameo.
I'm not too sure about it getting a 65 or a Heavy Cameo.

Pl 64 light gameo struck on a very dodgy planchet as a lot were. Nice early set.

Tough to grade a coin with those mirror surfaces, without the coin in hand... those early dollars tend not to be fully struck in the neck and shoulder of the Queen. At least a PL-64, possibly better in hand...

You can see a little pebbly surface that's probably from the planchet.
If these were all presentation pieces from the mint and placed into plastic and cardboard holders,..then there should never have been any contact marks on these sets..
Am I right in that thinking..?

The original cardboard holders were wrapped in a loose cellophane plastic wrapper... coins could get dislodged and then slide around inside the plastic making contact with others...
Also, at the time they were transfered into Capitol type holder they may have been dropped causing contact marks...
