I bought these two flying eagles. The one on the left is VG I think and the one on the right is a Large Letters variety? Is that correct. I think the one on the right would be VG too although dark.

The right one appears to be Large Letters with VG Details - Environmental Damage.

The left one looks like a pretty nice VG8.

Yes, I was mostly interested in the one on the left since it looked like a nice VG coin. The other one I figured was VG Details Large Letters. I see the surface issues along with the coin being dark. I had to read about what makes the coin large letters or small letters though.

Yep, both are VG, the one on the right has some damage.
