Yea, I sucked it up and went down the mountain in a foot+ of snow/ice to the store and picked up the 1882 $5 gold I mentioned I wanted to buy in my first gold purchase topic that I recently posted (1911 $5 Indian head).
I absolutly LOVE this coin as well.. Actually more than the Indian. I was born in 1982, so am working to get every denomination from 1882 (I have all from a few different countries for 1982) and with this $5 I'm only missing the larger golds and one other

so I'm quite happy about that, it'll be a while before I can get the bigger golds...
Anyways, this one was obviously raw, I paid $530, I feel pretty good about that, I'd say its a good price for the grade, great price intact. But... Like the $5 Indian I have NO experience grading gold coins. I know this one is MS, absolutely no rub/wear, it has fabulous luster... (that I probably didn't capture well in these photos, but it has a full, bright cartwheel like a nice Morgan would). It had a few scattered marks, but none in focal areas, or none that attract attention at least. So knowing not much with the grading of these I'd say its at a MS-63...?
These are the best photos I can get for now, I used my cell.... I took a bunch with my USB cam, but don't have Internet at home, I use my iPhone and go to my moms daily and use her wireless but I'm not heading out again tonight, it's HORRIBLE out up here, lol, I almost didn't get back up the mountain (yes, I literally live on a mountain...

on cruddy days at least), long story.. Wasn't fun.. Lol. But anyways... I'll update it tomorrow or the day after with better pics.. But I just got it so I wanted to show it now, lol.

It's a solid color all the way around, in the poor lighting and with a cell phone some of the pics look off... But there's a bunch of out of focus ones with me spinning the 2x2 to different angles so you can see the cartwheel and the solid color. Sorry, the best I can do for now..
You can also see a die clash of the neck and hair curl on the back of the neck on the reverse of the coin, from the right (our right) of the motto scroll to the eagles (our right) wing (hair curl on this side) and the front part of the neck from the beginning of the scroll (our left) to the eagles right wing (again, our left). Did that make sense? Lol. Is this common? theres also some other die cracks from letter to letter. I'll post pics of that from the USB, can't get any with my cell of it.
