I've been collecting and dealing with a lot of U.S. coins for the past couple years and believe it or not I had no idea these existed until I joined this site and roamed around the forums a bit. I was shocked at how I could have missed all these.
How could I even call myself a proper collector!

Now that I have roamed this forum a little more to examine these newly discovered treasures I really appreciate a lot of the designs. They seem to be a bit pricey though so I'll probably stick to my US type set of circulated varieties. But if I ever decide to pick one up I'll go back to this forum.

I'm sure I haven't seen all the designs yet so let me know which is your favorite and I'll look it up. Or post a pic of the favorite in your collection and give me something good to gawk at.

My favorites from what I've seen, probably in order:
(Forgive me for not calling them by their actual names)

Oregon Trail
California Gold Rush
Stone mountain
EDIT: Just saw the one for texas. It'll come in at #4
Colombus
Pilgrim

I'm partial to the Lexington/Concord as I'm from Massachusetts and also that I went to UMass (home of the Minuteman) and also have memories of concord that I never want to forget....

But I also love the Stone Mountain! My fiancé went there a while back and though I only saw photos I can definitively say I want to go in person.

And out of these three the one I have yet to own is the Oregon trail... My go to LCS has two raw Gem examples with no problems at all for an unbelievably great price so that's my next pickup after my recent gold binge

So again, I wanted a beautiful example of the Lex/Con so I searched for months and found this one.. It's NGC MS-63... But comparing it to many PCGS 64's this one looked better so I bought it...

And my Stone Mountain I went with this PCGS example that first off I LOVED the toning on and also believed was very undergraded, so I bought this one to crack out and got it for a steal! (Sorry for the small pics, I've been slacking on new ones..)

Seems the ones I favor are also favorites of everybody else.
And I am from California so perhaps that commemorative is high on my list for the same reason as your Lexington/Concord

That pan pac quarter eagle obverse might just be the coolest design I have ever seen on a U.S. coin. It's really right up my alley.
The pan pac half was really nice too.

The commemorative half dollars dollars 1892 through 1954 still have most of the neo classical design chatacteristics in them, that made the American coinage generally, so distinceive from the rest of the World's coinage systems.

How many people around the World do NOT like the design on a Liberty Walking half dollar?

I cant pick a single favorite for either the modern or the classic series. For the modern the baseball, WWII and Civil War are probably my favorites. For the classic Antietam, Lexington and Stone Mountain would be my favorites

I think the older ones are also tough to pick a favorite out of, but mine would be Stone Mountain as well. That would be followed by the Pilgrim. Moderns...maybe 1s Flight.

For the purpose of this thread, the 1982 Washington Half Dollars are my favourite. They were my first pair of commemorative coins (I have both proof and uncirculated).

However, the 1990 Eisenhower Centennial Dollar is my overall favourite commemorative issue. I only have the proof, which is in a 1990 Prestige Proof Set. I am still considering acquiring an uncirculated one for my 7070.

Aside from the subject matter, I really love how 3D the ship looks on the reverse.

to the collecting joy of USA commemorative jgettings00.

I'm a dedicated fan of what we know as the classic silver commemorative series .. 144 coins minted between 1893 and 1954.

This series IMHO contains some of the best coinage art of all USA issues ... and is filled with historical connections, greed and distribution intrigue.

Anyways ... a few of my favorites from the series ...

1926 Oregon Trail Half .... PCGS VG08

Favorite-Commemorative-Half?-Share-Your-Pics!

1936 Gettysburg Half ... PCGS VG10

Favorite-Commemorative-Half?-Share-Your-Pics!

On the MS side .... stunningly preserved example of a tremendous historical coin ...

1937 Antietam Half ... PCGS MS67/CAC.

Favorite-Commemorative-Half?-Share-Your-Pics!

Tremendous examples IMHO of USA coinage art ...

Among the half-dollars of the classic series, my #1 is the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition followed by the Oregon Trail Memorial and 1937 Roanoke Memorial (I live in NC!).
