Hello the coin is 4 grams I don't know if that helps.
I am totally clueless with this coin. Any help would be great.

Half sovereign....as far as what country. You live in Canada you should be able to figure this one out....

Not sure about the authenticity though, Mushy details and an odd surface.

Actually, it looks like it was mounted/soldered as a jewellery piece at one time... also visible on the edges. That would also explain the heavy wear... jewellery is most often polished up, and being rubbed while being worn.

I can't discern a mintmark below the hooves, and the date... well, a British half Sovereign is worth it's weight in gold.
