Hi all, I recently found a book that I had forgotten that I had titled "Foriegn Coins Struck At United States Mints" and I thought that it might be a fun endeavor to try to put together a type set of U.S. struck world coins.

The thing is, the book only covers the period of 1876-1963. It also has a supplement for the years 1966-1970.

Can anyone help out with any info of any world coins struck in the U.S. from 1970-date? Is the U.S. still striking coins for other countries? Any info at all is greatly appreciated.

That's very interesting. You see if there is a revised or 2nd edition for the newer dates?

I'll see what I can about adding to the list

That article is very informative. Glad you found it. There are several mints in the US that also make coins for other nations

Marshall Islands for example are minted by

M - Medallic Art Co.
R - Roger Williams Mint, Rhode Island
S - Sunshine Mining Co. Mint, Idaho

Some other members will come along that are far more knowledgeable then me when it comes to this.

Coins in the 1800s when Hawaii was a monarchy were minted in the US. The ones in 1883 have the King of Hawaii on the obverse. They were designed by Charles Barber.
