I love seeing such crazy listings on ebay, thanks! ebay used to be a nice enough way to buy/sell items but that was over a decade ago.

For anybody who's lamenting having missed the opportunity to bid in this memorable ebay auction, it isn't all over and done with yet. The vendor is also selling single bars. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1000-Gram-9...em4d0aaeb68fHappy bidding, best luck to all, etc, etc, etc...

I have been on a self imposed ban from both ebay and paypal since April 2006, and just have to ask [since viewing this sellers feedback] ~ How can this seller have 100% Positive feedback when he has 5 Negatives on page #1, also curious why someone with all that gold play around and sell Ten Dollar items on the bay?!?

The 100% positive feedback rating apparently only applies to sales within the last 12 months, and there's only one of those. All the other feedback are from 2009 and earlier, and all were for low-value items. I suspect somebody has hijacked this account and is using it to sell fraudulent items. Since he does have one positive feedback for selling a high-ticket item (a large gold bar), it's very possible that the bars are, in fact, deceptive as miggs suggested (rather than simply being non-existent). Most people probably won't bother destroying a bar to see if it is real or not, especially if there is an Assay Certificate. Of course, it's also possible the single decent recent feedback was from a shill bidder for the sole purpose of setting up this auction.

Quote: he does have one positive feedback for selling a high-ticket item (a large gold bar) In fact, I'm not even sure this transaction even took place.. Taking a look at the buyer's feedback for the trasaction (positive) I see: "Super Fast Payment, Well spoken and polite thanks Neil. A+" But then.. This was added: "CON ARTIST SCAMED ME 30K NEIL AND KATIE WHO EVER you ARE WILL BE FOUND!" Moreover, the seller's feedback was left only 16 hours after seller have accepted the offer... I just wanted to see if anyone digs this deep .

These 2 obviously live close to each other. The buyer probably pick up the bar in person and then opened a dispute so PayPal froze the funds before the seller could secure his money. Everything happened within 2 days. Or maybe the buyer paid in person with counterfeit bills and the seller noticed it after the fact. Who knows? But every time I hear of a story like this, it's always out of the UK
