I found this 1998-P Lincoln with, what appears to be, another rim protruding from the main rim right under the date. I can't find any other clash marks, but the possible misalignment has me all confused. I don't really know where to look for more. I have scoped this thing over and over. I am guessing the other side of the rim would leave somewhere around god or we but I could be way off. I have to admit I am no JCUVE!

From the images I can't tell if there is a trench cause by another coin hitting it or if that area inside the arrows is raised?

If it is a trench it would be coin damage.
if it is raised it might be a die issue, like a die dent.

Behind on the lingo.
Is this term "MAD Clash" referring
to clashed coins that have a misaligned die only/also
along with a clash or does it have something to do
with that site maddieclashes and those errors ?
On this coin I do not see any major significant misalignment
nor a clash. Maybe a collar or die wobble issue on strike.
?

Hey coop, it is raised, just like another rim sprouted from the existing rim. I first thought die dent, but the more I looked at it, rim started screaming at me.

MAD clash stands for misaligned die clash. The actual clash itself is misaligned. The clash marks will not be where a typical clash is.

Just a thought...is there any way possible that the collar could have clashed with the die causing this dent in the die. Just a thought, I am still a rookie with errors.

I'm leaning towards a die dent. The rim is caused during the striking in the collar. The dies get dropped or bumped into each other and it leaves a riased area. A rim touching the coin would be incuse and not raised. So it is a die issue.

The defect is ambiguous. While it could be a radical MAD clash, it could also be a die dent or even a wildly misplaced collar clash. Just file it away in the suspense account.
