Okay, I'm not sure what goes on with our money makers, such as the BEP or U.S. Mint, or the Treasury and Federal Reserve in April of each year, but, last month, I talked to a guy from the Dollar Coin Alliance, and I asked "When do you think are they going to vote on scrapping the $1 bill?" and the guy told me "Call back in April. We might know something by then" AND I also called the BEP about the new $100 bill, and asked "I know there is no official release date, but do you know if they are getting "close" to announcing one?" and the person I talked to, said they didn't know, but some big event (I forget what they called it) was coming up in April, so they might know by then" and I said, "Yeah, I figured maybe they would release the new high security $100 bills around the holidays, like in October or November when larger amounts of money circulate" and they said "No, the Federal Reserve doesn't like releasing new currency around the holidays" and I said, "Well, October is still a possibility, right?" and they said "Yes" So, if the Treasury is going to release that new $100 bill in 2013, as they said they were going to, they'd better hurry up and give us that "six months notice" by next month in April, because even if they announce it in May, I'm not sure that the new $100 bills would be released in November.
So, down to the point. Does anyone here know what I am talking about as far as this huge government coin and currency event or meeting goes? And will it possibly decide the fate of the penny, the $1 bill and the release date of the new $100 bill? (I believe the fate of the penny IS being reviewed along side the fate of the $1 bill, but I'm not 100% sure)
