I am not sure if it is from an old cleaning or just toning but the darker area is a pretty blue, I just can't manage to get the picture to show it. It's officially my oldest Canadian cent. chrycopaul Pillar of the Community Canada 1106 Posts	Posted 05/02/2007 7:33 pm With the amount of wear on the headband of the crown, and the flattened edges of the leaves on the reverse, I suspect that it may have been cleaned, Mintage4,663,486 The obverse on the 1911 coins are known as "Godless Obverse" because that year the Latin phrase "DEI GRATIA" (grace of God) or the abbreviation "DEI GRA" was omitted from the new tooling.
