Here's another surreal item that's going crazy on ebay:

How folks can bid so high on an item that is so obviously a fake never ceases to amaze me.

This type coin and Carson City, Nevada, didn't exist in 1798, and the CC mintmark on this fabrication stands for Chinese Counterfeit.

I reported this item and expect that it will be taken down/

I'd expect from someone who's willing to pay 800$ for a coin to make some research!

Actually, the seller ended it; it wasn't pulled by ebay. Maybe this seller didn't realize it was a fake.

I can only hope that since the seller was based out of Switzerland that they had no knowledge of how wrong that coin was, date wise and details wise.
