in the end though, she's seen multiple centuries and is here, holding secret, a hundred stories we would love to hear
nice piece of Americana

in 1812 that was a week's wage to a factory worker for 70 hours of hard labor, incredible huh

@dsfreeworld
Yes, without those scratches it would easily be F, I'm always bit confused how to grade a coin which has some sort of damage that isn't ordinary wear from circulation.

Anyway it's nice old coin for sure, bought it as a junk silver and it's certainly more valuable than that :)

I would love to have that one, Good Buy! It is a beautiful coin and worth more than spot just in (dsfreeworld stated) the stories and history of this coin!
Rest in Peace

Very nice. Not into grading these yet to where I feel any confidence. As mentioned above 1812 the history! Amazing.
Edit; For a 1812 F grade this is a $101.00 coin. There are varieties. Some others will more knowledge will chip in.
From your location, great find. Quote "These are the largest silver coin struck between 1803 and 1836."

VG-10 details. Definately worth more than melt, perhaps worth $30 to a collector that is willing to overlook the damage.
