A friend at work gave me this.

2012-Denver-Mint-Souviner

He was in Denver for a trade show and his group took a tour of the Denver mint.

Was the planchet purchased from the mint? I'm confused and curious.

The blank planchet/finished Cent pair are given to children who take the tour.

Well, he is short, but quite a child. He was part of a large group on a paid tour.

I haven't heard of "paid" Denver Mint tours (the A.N.A. has a special floor tour), but I've been on the tour with groups of school children who each received the Cent pair.
