very nice, I do not have a book yet sorry but I do know that there are Varieties based on I believe the color of the serial numbers. they are one of my all time favorite and I do believe the series is very common, as I have 2 of them in crisp unc
It's an Imperial design, dated 1910, but that may be the authorisation date. These large 1000 mark notes dated 1910 were certainly issued through WWI and up until hyperinflation made 1000 marks nearly worthless. There are indeed two varieties, Red Seal and Green Seal.
My vintage (1986) Pick catalogue numbers the red seal variety as P# 44, with two sub-varieties: a six-digit serial number, which were issued up to 1916 (CV$10 in Unc) and a seven-digit serial number (CV $1 in Unc).
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
