Need some advice on this one. it looks like a high MS state, maybe 63 or 64 but I don't see any luster on it. Anyone want to take a shot it

Note the wear on the topmost stars and on Liberty's hair. AU-55 at best, I'd say.

Knowing who took those pictures, I'd be careful about buying or bidding on this.
They use lighting techniques that hide flaws with the coin. For example, look closely at the reverse and you'll see that it's quite smudged up.

Now that you point it out I do see the smudging above the V. I didn't see that. Also those stars are a bit strange as the strike is very strong on the dentils above them. unless the die had lost some of its detail due to repetitive striking. I think you just saved a bunch of money. thanks for the great catch.

I'm not sure if that is all wear going on with the obverse stars. This series is notorious for weak struck stars and lower left wreath details. I'm not convinced this is a high grade MS coin as this seller is known to do some photo doctoring. A few members have bought and returned coins from this seller because they did not match the listed photos.(if it is who I think it is)
