I'm not saying it's not a clash , but how does it get that deep in the die? Maybe I am not thinking right. I do that alot!

The fields are what are affected. So the windows must be the same height as the field on the die.

The the OP's coin you can see the areas you mention that look like they already have been polished down removeing some of the orginal field/shallow devices. So the second clash affected made the clash we see stronger. Good catch toner.
