I picked up this silver token this morning at the flea market. It probably is silver, sure looks like it, but there is no mention of it in any world coin book or even ebay. Can someone let me know when it was made, what's the silver fineness and the story behind its production?
I have another one dated 1953 with Francisco Franco on the obv. with the same rev.

TIA Harvey

The reverse inscription, "De La Pta (peseta) Al Euro" translates to "From the peseta to the euro". There's no denomination on the coin, so maybe it's some kind of token or silver round commemorating Spain's conversion from its old currency to the euro standard?

I gave one of the pieces to a coin dealer who said he would take it to someone that had a "gun" that would tell him the fineness of the piece without damaging the coin.

It turned out that the pieces are .999 fine silver :^))
