I normally don't buy from Westminster but my wife liked the design of this coin and it was only £5.

Here is the link to order, if others in the UK are interested.

Whilst I'm sure your wife had the best of intentions, everything about that coin screams junk:

- Legal tender only in Jersey
- "Limited edition" of 60,000
- Cupro-nickel highlighted in "metallic gold ink"

So basically it's got no value as legal tender because you can't spend it anywhere except Jersey. It's got no collector value because they're minting 60,000 copies. Finally, it's got no intrinsic value because it's copper and nickel.

Sometimes coin collecting is not about the intrinsic value but adding something to your collection that appeals to you.

In this case, this goes along with her 2012 The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Official UK £5 Coin which I was able to obtain for £5 as well not the £12.99 that The Royal Mint has it listed for.

Yes, she is aware of where the coin is legal tender (not sure why you would want to spend it) and the mintage amount.
