Question About A Two Shilling Coin

Ok so I am new and know next to nothing about coins outside of the US but I was digging through some of the foreign coins from my local coin shop and just picked out some that I liked the designs on, haha.

So anyways I was looking through my picks closer today and had a question about this coin.
When you look at the coin and then flip it over, the work shilling is at the bottom, not the date. I was wondering if this was an error or if all these coins were like this? Might be a dumb question but like I said I know nothing about how these coins are suppose to be and any information is appreciated.

Not a dumb question at all! It is not an error. This is how these coins were designed and minted. Take a look at this link and scroll down to the coins of Elizabeth II. There you will find a similar coin.
