Grade on my Pacific International Exposition? One of my favorite coins!

Another of my four choices for the 7070...I would say MS62 on this one.

The scene that is depicted on the coin can be found in Goolgle Maps 'Balboa Park San Diego', terrestrial photos.
Place the orange man symbol on El Prado, about 100 metres west of the western end of the bridge.
(The bridge is to the east of the dome.)

I have been in that exact spot.
I also have an example of the coin.

I lived in San Diego for 10 years and am very familiar with the area. Was back there on vacation 2 weeks ago in that very spot!

Really nice coin - i'd go a little higher than MS62...but the left knee area on the Obverse is kind of distracting and I really have seen very few of these to pick out any problem areas. (so I would leave it to those who know more).

Nice coin! Overall, the coin has a nice appearance and appears to feature fields that are mostly clean.

The obverse high points will be a big driver for the coin's grade. I'm referring to the breasts and knees of Minvera. Lack of detail in these areas can be the result of a weaker strike or wear. I see discoloration on these high points combined with a reasonablly good strike (e.g., I see good detail on the head/helmet). The discoloration could be signaling wear/metal loss.

Without being able to hold the coin and check its luster, I'm going to grade it Choice AU (subject to upgrade!).

I love the SD commem. Lived there for a decade myself and miss it terribly. I'd grade this coin MS62

Nice coin, jleveille. I purchased one last month, but I haven't posted here because I know that the members want to see pics and I don't have a camera yet.
Mine is PCGS MS66, white and lustrous. I love it. I picked it up for $175.00 at the shop I deal with.
Last Saturday I picked up an MS65 Bridgeport. The early commemoratives are great. Lots of luck.

Very nice coin. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I spent a little time in San Diego while in the Navy going to school. Got my first and second tattoos at Tiger Jim's. That was way back in 19 and 79!
