Found my second star note in the wild, and decided to look up the number because it was in good shape.

My question:

mycurrenycollection.com says Run Size, 3,200,000
Total Printed, 6,400,000.

Is it the run size, or total printed size to look at to see if it was 640,000 or less? I know the site says "runs", but I just wanted to ask. (BTW the note is IG 03405141 *)

In either case, a tosser and the GF will spend it tomorrow on flea medicine for the cat (where the heck does an indoor only cat pick up fleas?

It is the RUN size that you have to look at to determine if it is a short RUN or not. Not the total printed which is the total of all RUNs for that star.

Run size is the number of notes in the print run that note is from. Total printed means all print runs in that particular series of star notes totaled 6,400,000, so it's not a particularly rare *. It's likely there were 2 print runs of 3,200,000. Check http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/ they have details of print runs / serial ranges.
