I would see this coin grading EF-45 (unfortunately rim damaged).

Why? Little left (our view) knee wear noted (so better than EF-40) and very good detail on both sides.

Without the rim nicks, easy EF-45 and possible AU-50. Still a nice coin that would work in a type set even with the nicks.

Great looking coin.

I wonder what the setting looked like and how often since 1854 it had been worn as jewelry.

Would it come back in a bodybag for environmental damage as well as the rim damage?

Otherwise looks XF-45
